The FLY HAUS is a local independent Fly Shop in Vermont located in Manchester Center selling new, used, and vintage fly fishing gear, offering guided fly fishing trips, private and free classes, lessons, and events.
We are avid fly fishermen who love to share our passion. Whether you are just starting or have been fly fishing for decades, we want to get to know you. Our goal at the FLY HAUS is to create a fly shop where everyone feels welcome.
As your go-to fly shop in Vermont, we are here to serve all your fly fishing needs.

Founders & Owners
Jayson and Renée
We opened the GEAR HAUS in February of 2024. As the demand for affordable outdoor gear grew, we soon realized the local fly-fishing community also wanted the same opportunity.
The community wanted a fly shop that not only provided quality fishing products at reasonable prices but also a place where they felt welcomed, no matter their skill level or experience. The FLY HAUS opened in May of 2024.

Fly Shop Owner, Guide & Instructor
Jayson T. Coté
When he is not running the shop, Jayson instructs fly fishing classes, youth camps and guides on our local waters. He grew up in the Adirondack park of upstate New York, where Brook trout became one of his favorite species to target on the fly.
“I love working with young and new anglers and truly believe the more people that we introduce to fly fishing, the better chances we have to conserve our precious resources and wild places.”

Fly Shop Manager, Guide, Instructor & Signature Fly Tier
Forrest Hamer
Forrest is an accomplished and well traveled angler with decades of experience from tropical flats to the riffles of the Battenkill. A native Vermonter, when he is not spreading his in depth knowledge in the shop, he is either tying flies or on the water. “I tie flies and I fish, that’s what I do.” Check out the shop’s fly bins that are filled to the brim with Forrest’s signature creations.

Fly Shop Guide, Instructor
Jeff Randall
Jeff is an accomplished guide haling from Telluride, Colorado, now here with us in Vermont. He has a deep passion for chasing fish wherever they swim—from high-country trout to saltwater species. His approach blends technical skill with a genuine love for time on the water, whether it’s dialing in a perfect drift or exploring new fisheries in search of the next opportunity.
Off the water, Jeff is just as dedicated to his craft. As a father and professional private chef, he brings the same care and creativity to the kitchen—preparing thoughtful, memorable meals for anglers and anyone who appreciates great food, good company, and the stories that come with both.

Fly Shop Guide, Instructor
Jack Creamer
I’ve been fly fishing intensely for the past seven years and have dedicated my time learning on the water and from the anglers I’ve met along the way.
I love it all, from technical nymphing and the challenge of delicately presenting a small fly to elusive, selective wild trout to relaxed days casting hoppers to eager native brook trout in Vermont’s small streams.
I’m always excited to share my experience through guiding and helping others build their skills and just have a good day on the water.

Fly Shop Guide, Instructor
Calvin Parent
I grew up in the headwaters of the Battenkill and have been drawn to its native and wild fish from an early age.
When I’m not guiding, I spend my time exploring smaller, remote waters—the further from the road, the better. I work with anglers of all levels, from beginner instruction to refining advanced techniques on the water.

FLY HAUS Signature Fly Tier
Knox Sirjane
Knox is incredibly talented. As a young aspiring fly fisherman, he ties the most consistent patterns with an incredible eye for detail. One day we will all be learning his signature patterns. Stop in the shop and get a “Box by Knox”.

Fly Shop Instructor & Signature Fly Tier
Jake Verner
Jake, also known as the Kilted Arborist, is the fly fishing “Jake of all trades”. When he is not on the water with clients, he’s getting his hands dirty, either forging hooks for his artistic flies, casting a trout spey, or planting veggies. Also a native of Vermont, Jake knows our local waters better than most.
